Resident Evil is coming to Netflix on 14 July and I am in two minds about it.
The movies were almost all trash. Except maybe the first and second. The last one was so bad I almost walked out the cinema. No really. It was utter garbage! Don’t believe me? Then watch this video about the editing. How many edits do you think it has in one particular scene that lasts 1 minute. 20? 40? 80? No, try 118. Watch this video if you don’t believe me!
Anyway, we’re not here to look at the crap movies of the past, we’re here looking at the future. And hopefully Netflix will bring this awesome franchise a new lease of… life (not sorry)
Some artwork for the upcoming 8-part series dropped today, and I have to say, it’s awesome.
Those are pretty classy Resident Evil posters, eh? I’m hoping that is a good sign, even though the series is produced by the same people who produced the Milla Jovovich movies. So what’s the series about?
Year 2036 – 14 years after a deadly virus caused a global apocalypse, Jade Wesker fights for survival in a world overrun by the blood-thirsty infected and insane creatures. In this absolute carnage, Jade is haunted by her past in New Raccoon City, by her father’s chilling connections to the Umbrella Corporation but mostly by what happened to her sister, Billie.
Apparently the series will be set in 2 time lines, one in the past, the other the future. So I assume it will be a ‘this is how the world came to end’ type plots. It stars Lance Reddick as Albert Wesker, which I think can work. Lance is a very capable actor and has one impressive stare.
What do you think? Ya or gaaaaaaaano?
All the series and all the movies couldn't put society back together again.
