Renfield trailer: It’s just a nic!

Renfield is a new movie from Chris McKay, and the trailer just landed. And I am like, wtf did I just watch?! I want more! Why? Well it’s got both the good Nicks in. Nicholas Cage, and Nicholas Hoult, that’s enough of a reason! But wait, there’s more!

Nicholas Cage is a… Wait for it, frigging vampire! Yes! He’s an evil undead! His servant, Renfield, played by Nicholas Holt, has decided that enough is enough though. He wants out, he wants to leave the vamp because, well, doing a vampires evil biding can get tiring. Especially when you’re offering Dracula up cheerleaders and nuns!

Enough talking, watch the damn trailer!

Here’s the official synopisis:

In this modern monster tale of Dracula’s loyal servant, Nicholas Hoult (Mad Max: Fury Road, X-Men franchise) stars as Renfield, the tortured aide to history’s most narcissistic boss, Dracula (Oscar® winner Nicolas Cage). Renfield is forced to procure his master’s prey and do his every bidding, no matter how debased. But now, after centuries of servitude, Renfield is ready to see if there’s a life outside the shadow of The Prince of Darkness. If only he can figure out how to end his co-dependency.

This looks like a load of fun. Really. I love the satire behind it, and Holt and Cage together, brilliant!

The only concern I have is director Chris McKay. I really liked his The LEGO Batman Movie, even if it reused a lot of jokes. But is other big film was The Tomorrow War which was a bit of a miss for me. I mean, it was fun, but shallow as all hell.

This is one for me, I can see that. I’ll be in the cinemas on 14 April when it lands, and I’ll even do a review for you lovely meatbags.

All the series and all the movies couldn't put society back together again.
