The new hunter gatherer game Light of Motiram, from Chinese company Tencent, certainly looks very similar. And that’s because it looks like a blatant rip-off of SONY’s first-party game, Horizon Zero Dawn and Forbidden West. It’s not that it’s ‘similar’ in style either, it’s practically a cut and past in visuals.
Heck, it’s so on the nose I’m actually impressed! Imagine spending this much time developing a game, that looks like another game, pretending to be a different game! Well done chaps. You’ve certainly managed to attract a great deal of free publicity, and all news is good news, right?
Let’s have a look at the gameplay, and try not to laugh, or say ‘copy of Horizon and Destiny’ too loudly:
Okay.. Well.. Yeah, that’s a rip off, with some other games thrown in. Like souls and Ark. I’m interested to see whether SONY warms up their lawyers because their IP looks like it was used to create this game. And the fact it’s also coming to PS5 is rather funny. Let’s wait and see how many units they sell.
